ALL STUDENTS MUST: Be prompt. Four tardies will count as one unexcused absence. Be seated and ready to work when class begins. Be prepared by having proper notebooks, texts, reading materials, pens, pencils, homework and whatever else is required at that class session.
SCIENCE PROGRAM: Science at Secondary includes both lecture and lab classes. The topic taught changes each year, but rotates through the following: Physical Science, Geology, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Botany. Students learn basic science concepts each year and are expected to expand and deepen their understanding of these fundamental ideas. The ultimate goal is to teach and practice scientific reason, skepticism and empiricism. Students read traditional science texts, read about current events in science and write lab reports about each lab exercise. We end the year with an individual or small group presentation where students are required to demonstrate their personal understanding of a science or technology related topic.
