ALL STUDENTS MUST: Be prompt. Four tardies will count as one unexcused absence. Be seated and ready to work when class begins. Be prepared by having proper notebooks, texts, reading materials, pens, pencils, homework and whatever else is required at that class session.

ENGLISH PROGRAM: Students will receive a syllabus each semester that outlines the grading procedures and specific areas of study, books, plays and literary forms. Students are expected to write weekly papers that are assigned on Fridays and due each Tuesday morning. Topics, length and literary forms will vary according the current area of study we are pursuing. Each year English classes complete one research paper, one creative project, several essays, creative writing and a study in Shakespeare. Midterm tests and finals are given each semester. There are generally two books that will be read outside of class. Nightly homework should include both reading and writing time.
